欧罗拉的目标是举办一个包含多个离子通道研究议题的国际性学术会议，让世界知名的离子通道研究科学家共聚一堂。每一年，研究学者借用温哥华离子通道年会的平台，讨论交换有关于离子通道方面的研究以及技术，从药物研发领域到药物安全评估。
今年首次在中国广州开办第二场会议，即2014离子通道国际论坛（简称IICR），预定在11月5-7日在广州粤海喜来登酒店举行。欢迎广大研究科学家参加。
除了沿袭温哥华会议传统的三天正式会议以外，首届离子通道国际论坛将包括额外的研讨班，以及生命科学新前沿话题。
